Deze Marriott resort ligt naast de andere grote Marriott resorts aan Palm Beach, een van de bekendste, drukste strand van Aruba. Vlakbij zijn er verschillende restaurants en winkelcentrums te vinden.
Omdat het vrij druk is doordat de strand te klein is voor de aantal gasten van de Marriott, moet u rekenen dat u moet bijbetalen en reserveren om op het strand onder een
palapa (een parasol van hout en palmbladeren) te liggen, kosten kunnen oplopen tot USD 35 per dag!
Verder heeft het resort een zwembad met apart kinderbad, een keur aan eet- en drinkgelegenheden van Steakhouse tot Sushi Bar
en uiteraard uitgebreide (water)sportfaciliteiten.
Aruba Marriott Resort & Stellaris Casino heeft 411 kamers met airconditioning die zijn voorzien van een kluisje in de kamer en koffie/theevoorzieningen. Elke kamer heeft een balkon. Gasten kunnen op de televisie zelf de gewenste premiumkanalen via de kabel/satelliet selecteren. Gasten kunnen tegen betaling gebruikmaken van internet (via de kabel) op de kamer. Alle bedden hebben luxe beddengoed. Elke badkamer is voorzien van make-up-/scheerspiegels, een haardroger en gratis toiletartikelen. Extra voorzieningen zijn onder andere een strijkplank/strijkijzer en een klokradio. Daarnaast wordt 's avonds een turndownservice geboden en is een huishoudservice dagelijks beschikbaar. My husband and I are here on your beautiful island for the third time! This trip we are here to celebrate our 45th wedding anniversary. On previous vacations we have stayed at the Hyatt. This is our first time to be a guest at the Marriott, but because of one of your associates, Erna, it will not be our last.
When we checked in on Friday, Erna greeted us with genuine warmth and a beautiful welcoming smile! My husband and I have never felt so special as we did on Friday! Erna was the epitome of customer service! I didn't feel like I was checking into a resort, I felt like I was being welcomed home by an old friend!
Later that evening when we returned to our room after dinner, Erna had sent us a lovely hand written note, a bottle of Champaign and two delicious pieces of cheese cake! We were overwhelmed!
I just wanted to say "Thank You!" Erna has gone above and beyond to make a special day in our lives, even more special. She has a sweet spirit, a love for people and a heart as big as Aruba! Don't ever let her go! She takes ownership at that reception desk and is a priceless asset to your resort!
The facility was excellent in my opinion but could use a little tweaking. We were quite pleased with our room but it wasn't attractive to have to jockey for a cabana or palappa. It wasn't hard to learn the rule and then do it. We weren't interested in utilizing them every day so we easily accomplished what met our needs, and I had fun doing it.
Ruth's Chris was excellent and priced commensurately with every other city's pricing. The sushi restaurant was average at best and priced about 40% higher than my local sushi places. La Vista had a nice breakfast buffet but the one time we tried it for dinner sucked. The prices were not in line with the quality of food and would the waiter we had was terrible.
I played a considerable amount in the casino and I was okay with everything except the chain smoking lady beside me while I was playing Texas hold'em. I'm a former smoker so I certainly expect it in a casino, but they could improve the ventilation or have a non-smoking area for table games. Winning or losing is as with any other casino.
Overall, I would go back, but with the exception of Ruth's Chris and the lobby café, I would eat off premises. Marriott is a good steady product in my opinion.
The Marriott should have an excellent 5 star rating. It is like most other Marriott Hotels. The other reviews pretty much says it all. I had no smoking problems in the casino or elsewhere. My rating is only for the beach "huts". One needs to pay a extra $25 a day and rent for the week to get shade. A $25 extra on top of $200 for room and $50 tax is a little to much and you might not even get a space on the beach or pool. This left the only bad experience I had. Since I like the beach, and dislike the extra fee for shade, I will go to another Hotel on the next trip.
The staff was excellent, Ruth Chris expensive, mixed drinks $14 each, rooms clean, beds nice, the safe is a plus, balcony very nice especially with breakfast, weather nice all week, water cloudy at hotel, occasional rain bursts, and the casino slots were tight for most persons.
Stellaris Casino slots appeared not to hit often. We were lucky, my wife hit the big jackpot for $1,000 and everyone was amazed because no one else was winning. She hit the same slot three more times, and I hit it once, so we left with $2,000 ahead.
Caribbean Poker here pay out for a "straight" which is nice, but I couldn't get winning hands so I did lose on this table game. Overall we did come ahead enough to pay for all our tours, and hotel expensive drinks. (Drinks free in the casino.)
We really enjoyed our stay at the Marriott Resort. I agree with many of the other reviewers that the smoke from the casino is bad! They need to put doors on the casino and a separate ventilation system! Also, the info about getting an umbrella on the beach is true - if you want one get out early to reserve one or pay to reserve one for multiple days. We spent most of our time at the adult pool and really enjoyed it. We had no trouble getting chairs on the days that we did not pay for a cabana. We had great service from all the staff and shopkeepers at the hotel. We also had wonderful, friendly and very helpful cab drivers! Can't wait to go back!
We stayed at the Marriott Stellaris hotel the week of April 16th, 2012. We found the hotel very accomodating and pleasant. Most of the staff was very nice and the facilities were terrific.
If you are a guest you need to wake up early to reserve a
place around the pool or beach that has an umbrella otherwise the sun is very hot and sunscreen will only do so much.
The stores within the hotel are very expensive and limited and unfortunately supermarkets are not nearby.
Great property. Love the island.Weather, restaurants and people. Highly recommend. My only negative experience was with a shop on property. They offer Marriott guests discounts that they try very hard not to honor. Not a reputable store to deal with. Shop somewhere else.
We recently spent five days at your facility and loved every moment of it. In general, the staff were excellent, the food was phenomenal, the beach and accommodations were perfect. Our only complaint was the severe lack of effort on the part of the concierge to assist us in scheduling other activities. With the exception of making a dinner reservation, we planned and scheduled all other outings. Despite this, we had a wonderful experience and would definitely return to this facility.
The hotel is not that bad but i am not planning on going back there again where as i have talked to some people that go back year after year. First of all, If you have a problem with cigarette smoke, do not go there. The smoke from the casino goes to the lobby and rises up so at night in a lot of rooms you can smell the smoke. It was so bad that we had to put towels on the cracks of our doors before we went to bed. Also, the concierge is LAZY. So is most of the other staff there. For example I went in one of the stores and asked if they could show me a few pairs of men's sunglasses. Their answer was "whatever is out is out" thanks for the help. The bar tenders are also really rude. And if you want an umbrella at the beach, you either have to get up at 7 in the morning, or pay. And it is a real hassle to get an umbrella. luckily the lady at the towel hut named Elisabeth was nice enough to explain how this all worked to us. Take this in to consideration. I'm not saying dont stay there, but if that bothers you than reconsider.
This is our seventh year at this hotel. We always come after Presidents week and stay for 14 days. If you come for Presidents week the tourists are rude and treat the staff like slaves without tips. The restaurants on the island are great and I would not ever consider an all inclusive because of the quality of food and service. We find the staff treat us great and we treat them like family. The Marriott is going through some remodeling since it initially opened in 1995 and the new room furnishings are great. We will be back again next year. If you are too cheap to tip the staff, please go somewhere else.
We returned from Aruba last wk. (me, my fiancee', my friend Matt and his girlfriend). While we found the hotel and accommodations to be fine, we found most of the staff to be unfriendly, especially the bartenders. There seemed to be chips on many shoulders and we don't know why. My family has been visiting Aruba for many years and in the past always found the hotel personel, cab drivers etc to be extremely accommondating.... but no more. What's wrong?? I did my proposal of marriage there and had hoped to possibly have our wedding there but that's out of the question now. I don't plan on returning.
We spent a week here and the service and hotel were marvelous. From diego at the lobby bar and augustine the waiter at breakfast could not have been nicer. The casino is a little tight but we went all inclusive and ate like kings. We had no problems with the huts at the beach or poolside. The rooms are nice, with a refridgerator nicely furnished. Would i go here again, yes i would? Its a little pricey compared to mexico but the natives are great and friendly. Theres a grocery store {lings and son} near the shopping district where i stocked up on diet dew,only coke sodas here got a few other incedentals like chips.This is a five star hotel but i noticed fewer people that worked for us,september is a slow month. Met a lot people from new york here. Plus a lot from holland and other countries. I highly recomend this hotel but go all inclusive you save in the long run
My wife and I stayed at the Marriott Aruba last month.It was our first visit to Aruba,and we were a little disappointed with the service and the condition of the hotel. It was clean, and the beds were really comfortable. but we just expected a 5 star hotel as they are rated.If this is a five star I'd hate to see a three star. The first problem is you have to get up at sunrise to get a spot at the beach or you not only have a walk to the water but they also charge you. Fifty percent of the cabanas are free and if you get there later than 7:00 a.m.you have to pay for the usage.I refused to wait in line with the fifty other people ( I should say vultures) to get a free seat on the beach. We were very surprised at the nickel and diming that went on in this hotel. I don't mind paying, but add it on the price of the room and make me feel like I'm on vacation and not like I'm standing in line at a soup kitchen. Well after two day's of that we decided to check out the Hyatt Regency. They were doing some renovations on the place but we decided it had to be better than the Marriott, so we checked in there, and checked out of the Marriott. Best thing we could have done. The hotel was beautiful and the service was great. We didn't even know there was construction going on. Now we were finally in a five star hotel. I would highly recommend this hotel. It's a few bucks more , but who cares when your on vacation, it was well worth the extra money.Just for the record the Marriott is a three star hotel at best.We would never go back there.
My husband and I loved the Aruba Marriott so much we are planning to go back next month. The staff is very nice and the rooms are spacious. We enjoyed the casino and the beach . The MANDARIN SPA in the resort was a great place to relax and enjoy some special treatment. I had a pedicure and manicure. The prices are affordable and the girls that staff the spa were very professional. It was nice for a change to see such a nice gym which I did use a couple of times. The food in the hotel was a bit pricey and we didn't need the brakfast buffet however you can order off the menu(the frittata was good). You can get coffee and yogurt downstairs. We enjoyed the pool grill(Waves)for lunch. They had a good menu. We were easily able to get a taxi and head to the Aruba Destiny Restaurant (by the Dutch Mill)for dinner(great food). We have stayed at the Occidental and the Holiday INN and by far the Marriott is the best. CATHIE GALLAHER
Okay, so weve been going to Aruba years. Friends weve met there tell us the Hyatt is old and we need to try the Marriott.
Well, let me tell you, maybe eveyone else has good experiences at th marriott, but ours was not something we want to remember, in fact we have already rebooked to go back to Aruba in a few weeks just to get this bad Marriott experience behind us.
First, we book on the Marriott website and then we find a better deal, but they won't match it, some nonesense about wholesale rates don't count, so already we are having problems.
When we arrive the Executive King room we booked and paid for is not available so they want to put us in a regular room and compensate us for the downgrade.
We spoke with the general manager, what a creep!
Enough already, we did not even check-in, we left and we will never, never go back. Listen, the place looked fancy enough but if they don't have what you paid for and then they act like it's not a big deal and you should be happy with a lesser room and the difference of your money back and you accept it with a smile then shame on you
We have stayed at hotels around the US and Europe. The Marriott Aruba is the best. What made it the best? The friendly staff from the moment you walked into the lobby to the maintenance staff. The Aruba Mariott was so clean and well kept. It was convienent to everything. The beaches were beautiful, the activities the Marriott held were great, buffets were great, views from our room were superb. I'd go back today if I had the time off from work. It truly was "One Happy Island"
Planning our honeymoon was fairly simple, as everyone who traveled to Aruba recommended it. From the moment we stepped into the hotel lobby, we knew we had made the right choice - we were overwhelmed.
The room was airy and tastefully appointed, and the view from the balcony was out of this world - I can still close my eyes and picture the view, as well as hear the tradewinds!
The staff was great, and the casino was even better - thankfully it didn't open until 4 PM, otherwise I would not have gotten any sun.
I highly, highly recommend this hotel and, if possible, get an oceanfront view. It is well worth it!
