Rooms are always very clean, excellent housekeeping. Plus the gorgeous ocean view from every room does not hurt either!
Staff members are all extremely friendly, our special thanks to Fitzroy, Doris, Edwin, Julio and Angela for this another amazing stay.

We have stayed at the Tamarijn for the past 14 years and it never fails to disappoint. Every year they are updating the hotel and we look forward to the updates each year. The staff is outstanding. Fitzroy the restaurant supervisor is professional but we always feel like family and are treated like royalty. Our housekeeper Angela greets us each year with a smile and a hug. The bartenders, Alex, Edwin L., John, Julio, Mika and Carmen all have their own way of making you feel special.
The food at the restaurants is excellent if you can't find something that pleases your palate I would be amazed.
Every room is ocean view and the price point is great. We look forward to next year.

We visited the Tam on our honeymoon 25 years ago. Last year we went back for our 25th anniversary. It was awesome !!! We loved it so much we are going back in a few weeks. We did stay at the high rise area once, and would not do that again. Too much hustle & bustle. We love the Tam. Love the frozen cocktails.....food is plentiful and delicious. Very relaxing.

Honeymoon 1979

April 02, 2011

On April 8, 1979, my wife and I began what was to be a wonderful honeymoon in Aruba at the Tamarijn. We had ground floor lodging and were mere footsteps from the ocean, the outdoor Jamba Restaurant (I don't think it's there now), the pool, and the little shack along the beach where we enjoyed Tamarijn Coolers and Coconut Pelicans. The tropical foliage around the Tamarijn was beautiful and the staff was so pleasant to us. I remember an outdoor concrete ping-pong table near the Jamba restaurant. I recall listening to a steel drum band one night and dancing with my bride to live music on another night.
We rented a little Suzuki motorcycle and explored the eastern side of the island. We saw the little chapel at Alta Vista, crossed the natural bridge, saw the dolomite rocks a little further on, and swam in the surf at Andocurri. One evening, we dined at de moelen (the windmill restaurant) where the food was superb and the service exceptional. While there, my wife asked for a Southern Comfort and water. The waiter brought her a glass of water and a glass of Southern Comfort. It was funny, but cute. We also ate at The Trocodero and The Bali. Between the hotel and the local restaurants, we enjoyed delicious food.
On our last night, we went on a sundown trimaran cruise. It was very romantic.
It is our hope that, someday, we will be able to return and spend another week in the same room. We have deeply treasured memories of our honeymoon at the Tamarijn. To this day, I recommend it as a vacation and honeymoon paradise.

June 10, 2010--My husband and I just returned from 8 GLORIOUS nights at the Tamarijn. This is our 8th visit. The friendly staff, beautiful beach, comfortable rooms all facing the gorgeous sunsets make this a dream vacation. The entertainment has improved tremendously. We normally do not usually take advantage of entertainment, but the shows were so great, we were there every night. The beaches are so clean and the food so well prepared and served, plus the staff is so friendly, you never want to leave. The bar staff and also the shuttle drivers are very entertaining. However, the buffet staff deserve lots of kudos for their friendliness and patience. All in all...this is one vacation spot you will keep coming back to. It only gets better. We like the Divi restaurants and bars also, but our heart belongs to the Tamarijn.

Damian and I went on our first real vacation in 30 years . We spent 7 wonderful days and nights at the Tamarijn. The staff was so very friendly and helpful. The food was terrific. The weather was the best of all. We were sitting on the sunny beach when we found out our home town in Vermont (in the USA) Had just received 18 inches of snow. We enjoyed ourselves so much we are coming for another visit with friends. Can't wait to be back at the Tamarijn !!!

great time at Tam

September 27, 2007

My wife and I stayed at the Tamarijn Sept. 15-20, 2007 and had a wonderful time. All (4) of the specialty restaurants that we ate at had great food (especially the Paparazi Italian - although staff there not the friendliest). Lunch buffets were also very good at the Tam. Breakfast was average at both the Tam and the Divi. All bars at the Tam were good with friendly staff and very good drinks (they never went light on the rum in my rum & cokes). Beach in front of Tam is rocky when walking in, but once you get in the water it's smooth pure white sand with very calm, warm water. The rooms at the Tam are somewhat small and out-dated, but clean. Air-conditioning in room worked great and we had plenty of cable channels on t.v. View from room was spectacular! Only a few footsteps from our patio door was the crystal clear Caribbean sea. We learned that September is a slow month in Aruba and perhaps the service at hotels is better then as opposed to the busy season. We usually vacation at the all-inclusive resorts in the Mexican Riviera Maya, but we will return to the Tamarijn in Aruba for sure in the future.

Not That Great !!

September 19, 2007

First let me tell you about the breakfast.Sub par with the exception of the person who cooks your eggs. Lunch tended to be better than dinner without a doubt. If you don't mind a lot of flies landing on your food and birds stealing your food when you get a drink, then by all means please have dinner and lunch at the buffet. All staff were friendly and very helpful. The Divi restaurants were way better than any of the Tamarijn. better atmosphere as well. The rooms were great with exception of almost all the hairdryers blowing fuses constantly. The entertainment was something you could live without and some nights they didn't bother to even entertain us. (PARTY OF 50 PEOPLE FOR A WEDDING). Fred and others pressured us all to go to a timeshare meeting and didn't let up until we left. It was a great location because it was close to town. Like most resorts the shops there are extremely overpriced from water to aspirin. $10 dollars for tylenol. We really enjoyed the Red Parrot at the Divi. I have stayed on other islands before and I think Aruba is beautiful but way overpriced. I did like taking the golf carts to the other resort and the drivers were really nice. Georges ATV rental was amazing for $60 to take ATV for 2 hours without a guide to rush you along.

I have a full review on the divi divi. The divi divi and the tam share everything... you can use the divi restaurants for free if your staying at the tam. The tam is second class to the divi--- BUT---This is still a good place. As far as the food is concerned- I have no idea what the other review was talking about....... you can get what ever you want it is buffet style with lots of different options and they change the menu daily. There is a "free" pizza bar and freshly made & toasted sandwiches. There is a classy Italian restaurant there too(I don't really care for there menu- but my wife LOVES IT!!!)
The food is good at the tam please don't believe the other review. My wife and I have been staying at the divi for 4 strait years, i pay a lot of money to stay there and wouldn't if it was crappy. Each year they make more & more improvements. They are always trying to make there place better.... We are now looking for a timeshare but let me tell you it is sad to think we may not stay at this awesome resort again. I fully recommend the divi & the tam...

Stayed from 25/5 to 9/6/07 the meals on offer at the restauraunts were terrible in fact terrible would have been an improvement. It was our first visit to the island and found the people very friendly the staff were helpful a special mention for Carmel & Lampi . The hotel check in & out was good with bags being delivered & collected very quickly . The rooms & hotel were in good order & it is the first completely hassle free island in the Caribbean we have visited and it was a pleasure to go out & see the island it is just a pity the hotel lets itself down so badly with the food.A problem when you are all inclusive and have to eat out. VERY SAD.

went to the Tamarijn the 23rd may till the 6th June 07. when we arrived there we went to our room [2306], our bags were being brought by the bell boy. we walked in and immediately liked the room, very clean and had two queen beds even though there was only me and my husband. then i went to the sliding doors of the balcony and could,nt believe our eyes when we saw the view, absolutely spectacular. beautiful turquoise water right on our door step and the sand was white like talcum powder. PARADISE. we had a very relaxing two weeks. the staff were all very friendly especially in the self service restaurant. if you go to the tam look out for [elvira and isa] and give them our love. they were such good fun and so very helpful. also [ruben] one of the bartenders, he was a ball had everyone laughing and having a good time. we relaxed on the beach most days and in the evenings watched there shows that started at 9pm. also had a few nights at the divi hotel that was connected to the tam. we had a fabulous night on a romantic dinner cruise, the food, the sunset and the staff were brilliant. all in all we had a holiday that will be in our memories forever. and yes we will go back. miss you so much tam xxxx

FAB' TIME AT THE TAM

November 28, 2006

my boyfriend and I visited Tamarijn Nov. 2006 for six days. Beach was literally right outside our door. Picture perfect!! Sunny, 85 everyday. Although everything was kept clean the bathroom was dated. And after 2 days of lukewarm showering I figured out the hot water was cold and cold was hot (duh, who fixed these pipes?) Anyway, we paid $10 extra a day for privileges at the Divi. We only dined at the Divi (Red Parrot, 3 nights) ABSOLUTELY WORTH IT! We only left the resort to go dancing (Carlos & Charlie) We are from NYC so compared to the clubs here, eh OK (I would go again) and we went horseback riding. A simple vacation that I am definitely glad I booked. Note when drinking, ask for what u want or u will get the cheapy, cheapy :).

ONE HAPPY TAM - ONE HAPPY ISLAND

October 20, 2005

We stayed at the Tam Oct 6-10th. What a relaxing time!

Had the MEGA all-inclusive, so we could take advantage of the Divi Resort next door as well. We go to Aruba every year & usually spend most of our time, "off-resort", during the day, to snorkel up near the lighthouse at Arashi Beach. But this year the water was rougher than usual, so we spent alot more time at the Tam/Divi Resorts.
Having done the Holiday Inn (hated it) and the Allegro/Occidental (liked alot, but closed for renovation)in the past, I must say, we were very impressed with both the Tam & the Divi. We liked the room situation better at the Tam because ALL the rooms are facing the water & are literally steps away. At the Divi, only "some" of the rooms face the ocean. (So we will stay at Tam again, but get MEGA so we can go to the Divi again). Great to just run back to your room in 60 seconds from the hut (in front of the room) to get more sunscreen. Beats having to walk thru an air-conditioned lobby, while dripping wet, then waiting 5 minutes for elevator to 9th floor :)(like at the Allegro/Occidental & Holiday Inn).

We were in the 2500 block of the Tam which is the farthest from the Bunker Bar or any of the other common areas, but didn't mind the walk. Besides, you could always catch one of the golf carts for a ride.

The Tam is a little more laid back compared to the Divi, but we split our time half & half. The Divi buffet food has a few more items then the Tam, a little more upscale, but we enjoyed both. LOVED having everything outdoors...right on the water...The feel in the Divi common area is a little fancier - (folks like to dress up a little more at nite for dinner, etc.) but the Palm Grill at the Tam was fun, cause we met another fun couple & cooked our own food on the grill right on our table. The Red Parrot at the Divi was a romantic sunset dinner - food, service were excellent. (Didn't get the chance to try Papparazzi, but will next time). For those folks who don't like the birds & such while eating outside, suggest one of the hotels on crowded Palm Beach where you can eat inside.(Or stay home!) (On a previous trip, our "reservation" dinner at the Holiday Inn was spoiled by dirty smeared windows to look out of while we ate.....gross!) Who needs air-conditioning anyway?
Top Shelf liquors at all the bars was the best! Had a great time at all the nite-entertainment at Tam & Divi.
Even won a little on the slots at the Alhambra Casino!
Nice little shopping village over there too.

Went to the Flying Fishbone one nite, which we always love.....well worth the trip to Savaneta.

If you like classic RockNRoll, check out the band called "Equator". Awesome! www.equatorband.com - shows their schedule. We saw them Sunday nite Happy Hour at the Palm Pier (on Palm Beach, in front of the RIU/Aruba Grand.) They play at different locations, so check their website.

We rented a Jeep at the hotel for the rest of our stay, so we did our usual trip to the north shore, East of the lighthouse, to see our "Wish Rocks" & even made new ones. Check it out if you never have..it's amazing.....

We didn't do half as much island trekking as we usually do & even had plans for the Butterfly Farm, but BOTH resorts were so much fun & relaxing that we never made it to any other side-trips (except the Aruba Music Festival - which was awesome) and didn't really care.....loved having Pizza & Pannini's and the Mexican Fries & onion rings any time we felt like it ........sometimes that's all we did for lunch...or late-nite eats.....
For a place we can get food or drink of any kind, any time of day or nite...best all-inclusive we've ever been to...the Tam & Divi both ROCK!.............

Thanks to ALL the staff on the Resorts..see ya all next year!

............. Aruba....One Happy Island.....

Just got back from our stay at the Tamarijn. What a great hotel!! Our room was steps away from the beach and one of the 3 huge pools on the grounds. The staff were friendly, courteous and helpful. The food was pretty good. They have a buffet all day as well as 3 other restuarants so you dont feel like your eating the same thing everyday. The atmosphere was fun but relaxing, hardly any drunk highschool/college groups like you tend to see in places like Cancun. Great place for newlyweds and families. If you want a relaxing, clean, beautiful, friendly place...stay at the Tamarijn! Cant wait to go back!!!

August 05, 2005

Honeymooned last week there with my wife. We really enjoyed the island and the resort. We stayed at the Tamarijn but also were treated to the honeymoon upgrade that gave us access to the Divi resort. We are glad we did that. The food at the Tamarijn was ok. It wasn't "great"; but it was definitely edible. Some days the fruit was fresh, some days it wasn't. Omelets (sp?) in the morning, although a little greasy, were always delicious. The Red Parrot was definitely the best of the 3 reservation restaurants and we ate there twice. The food was good and the service was excellent. The servers seemed to actually be having fun. Skip the Paparazzi Italian restaurant. The service was not good and the food wasn't either. The Divi's buffet was usually better than the Tamarijn's (especially fresher salads and we love salads) but they were both still good. I would definitely spring for the upgrade if I were going again. The free bike rentals made short trips easy but if you needed to walk, a grocery store was a couple minutes away and town is about 1.5-2 miles away. I did wish they would enforce their 1 hour hold policy on the huts out front. Every morning their would be towels sitting on lounges under the huts "reserving" the huts for later in the day. Most were "reserved" for a good 2 hrs or more without anyone using them. It took a lot for me to keep from chucking the towels on the ground but I kept my cool and went with the flow and made it "One happy island." Snorkeling is great at Boca Catalina. It was ok in front of the Tamarijn as long as you went out pretty far. Every day I went out to see my 3 baracuda buddies in about 6 feet of water. They always greeted me then slowly swam off... Also, if you want to have fun on your visit, rent a 4x4 jeep wrangler for $65 for the day from Economy and tour the island, especially the natural pool. If you make that trek, I'd advise against renting the 4x4 Suzukis. Saw one stuck back there. It is serious 4 wheeling but well worth it. Make sure to see the Natural Bridge too. We missed the East end beaches but we'll have something to see on our next visit. Don't go fishing until October or November. We went on a half day trip and only caught 3 king mackerel. I am a big fisherman and was hoping for some dorado and wahoo but they just weren't in the cards. Fishing is cheap compared to other locations though. Shopping is fun and if you like jewelry and watches, take some cash because there are lots of deals to be had. Those were the highlights from my trip. I would definitely stay at the Tamarijn again but only with the Divi upgrade for food. Looks like they are renovating so the rooms will probably be even nicer on our next visit.

My family of five just returned from a wonderful 10-day vacation at the Tamarijn. We shared adjoining rooms and loved the fact that the rooms were right on the beach. There were shade huts available and we were always able to get one when we wanted it. We were centrally located to the amenities at the hotel, the main pool, snack shack, main dining room, and bar so everything was just a 30 second walk away. My three teens, always hungary, knew where to go for food and drink and enjoyed the variety of foods always available. We enjoyed the refreshing drinks available daily and my kids enjoyed the virgin version of the drinks, pina coladas and strawberry daquiries. We signed up of a number of day trips and the hotel staff was very good at taking care of all the trip arrangements. The service from everyone at the hotel was first rate. We enjoyed going to the DiviDivi and spent time there as well enjoying their restaurants and entertainment in the evening. The golf cart service to and from each resort was a nice convenience. We enjoyed shopping by the vendors that came onto the properities. They were not pushy and were there to help you if you needed it. Although gambling was not our forte, we went to the casino where we enjoyed the nickle and quarter slots. We even won some money but it all went back. As non-smokers, it was hard for us to remain there long because of all the second hand smoke and the smell. The island was very friendly to Americans (important factor for me) and that alone will draw me back to Aruba.

It is one happy island.

My husband and I have been to the Tamarijn 3 times and find it very comfortable. All rooms are ocean view and although they are not fancy they are nice. Who wants to be in a fancy high rise on the beach anyway? There is plenty of entertainment and the food is fantastic, so many choices. You realy never have to leave the motel.
And the employees are exellent! Plan to return this year.

My family stayed at the Tamarijn in June 2004. Our family consists of 2 parents, 19 year old daughter, 17 year old son and 13 year old son, so we had two rooms. The rooms were clean and reasonably nice. We found the Tam to be a prefect family resort. The food was better than average and the drinks were great. We received wonderful service and found the employees to be friendly and helpful. There were just enough activities to keep us entertained, but not overwhelmed. I read many negative reviews before our trip, but found them to be incorrect. This is not a 5 star resort, but it isn't priced as a 5 star resort. My family has traveled to numerous resorts and taken several cruises and we found the Tamarijn to be a good value. We are returning for spring break 2005.
